In Murray, KY, members of the Rotary Club of Murray and the Murray-Calloway County Parks began working towards the creation of the Rotary Memorial Tree Park. They identified an underused area of Murray Calloway Park and looked to transform it into a nice, cool, and shady walkway for all. After years of planning and hard work, the park was dedicated on October 22, 1998. Over the years, the park has been added to until it contains benches, an amphitheatre, monuments recognizing past members of the rotary club, and a walkway. The walkway connects the entrance parking lot and the Rotary Amphitheater Pavilion while allowing everyone an opportunity to honor those in memory. Members are still working hard to constantly improve the park and have many ideas towards improvements and community involvement. They are even looking into the possibility of have local students help to design additional lanes within the park. Bringing communities together and helping families get outdoors is what Outdoor Happiness is all about!
